Description

A full Retrospect of every Himalia Recording from 2005 to 2008.
Himalia meant so much to everyone who was involved, From members to fans. So it feels right to release a complete collection on the 15th Anniversary of the bands debut release on Dead Tree Records (R.I.P)
Re-Mixed and Re-mastered with some unreleased extras.
2005: And Music in it’s Roar [EP]
2006: Croisade D’un Poète [ALBUM]
2008: To feel that we exist, even in pain. [Acoustic EP]Early 2000’s Emo rock with a splash of Screamo with catchy choruses and thick guitars.Australian Music Press described Himalia’s “Croisade D’un Poète” as “MTV Screamo” or “Pop-Screamo”, which at the time did not sit well with their small but extremely loyal fan base. Alternatively Himalia was described by their fans, as an emotional journey that reflects life as a young adult in the early 2000’s. Himalia planted their flag in the middle of the bridge between hardcore punk and emo. Punk rock inspired riffs and aggressive, high-end screams and filled with soaring melodies carrying choruses across seas and hearts. Front man – Rookie Allen, has an emphasis on Sex, Lust, Heart Break and extreme emotional expression, through detailed confessional lyrics and passionate performances.

Himalia, was a band formed of members from around the world and went through multiple line up changes in its short 3 years of life. Formed in 2005 by two Australian natives and a rag tag group of international University students, Himalia conducts a beautiful musical tapestry of emotions and past romantic encounters. It’s line up consists of your stock standard rock band line up infused with violin and classical piano. Himalia’s apolitical nature, catchy music and accessible themes had broad appeal for a young, mainstream audience and took the band
around the great southern land multiple times until their demise in 2008.

Dear HIMALIA,
REST IN PEACE, PRETTY GIRL.
Thank you for your loving arms and guiding hands that protected us and took a misfit group of immature kids around a land down under.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say…I miss you.
